Collins & Aikman Names Mesaros Director, Commercial and Program Management

    TROY, Mich.--Dec. 18, 2000--Collins & Aikman Corporation today announced the appointment of James M. Mesaros to Director, Commercial and Program Management for its North American International Business Unit. In making today's announcements, Steve Jeske, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the North American Automotive Interior Systems Division, commented, "Moving Mesaros into this key position will help us further strengthen our relationship with customers such as Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Mercedes, etc. Additionally, as we continue to realign our Sales & Marketing function, I'm confident that experienced individuals such as Mesaros will provide us with a competitive advantage in the marketplace that is second to none."
    As Director of Commercial and Program Management, Mesaros will be responsible for strengthening Collins & Aikman's program management activities and commercial relationships with key customers such as Honda, Nissan, Toyota, and Mercedes. Prior to this appointment, Mesaros was Senior Program Manager for the Company's North American International Business Unit. With more than 10 years of automotive experience, Mesaros was most recently Account Manager for New Business Development for Cambridge Industries prior to his joining Collins & Aikman. He has held a series of automotive sales, commercial business and program management positions with the Nishikawa Standard Company, Ford and its Jaguar Division, and Lear Corporation. Mesaros holds a bachelor's of science degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio.
