Green Hills Software's PowerPC Cross Compiler Selected For Jaguar S-Type Sedans

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--Dec. 18, 2000--Green Hills Software today announced that its PowerPC C cross compiler and instruction set simulator have been selected by Ford Motor Company to produce software that controls spark timing, fuel injection, and emission control systems for all Jaguar S-Type Sedans.
Application software developed using the C cross compiler will run on a PowerPC MPC509 32-bit microcontroller under a proprietary real-time operating system.
"We are extremely pleased to have been selected by Ford to provide the C compiler and simulator for their new line of Jaguars," said John Carbone, vice president of marketing at Green Hills Software. "Green Hills' optimizing compilers are ideal for developing fast, compact code that takes full advantage of the PowerPC MPC509. We're excited to see our compilers play a role in making the Jaguar S-Type one of the finest luxury sedans on the road."
