California's Thriving High-Tech Industry Served by Hundreds of Suppliers at Pacific Design & Manufacturing Trade Show
LOS ANGELES--Dec. 15, 2000--As the state with the nation's largest high-technology industry, California requires an immense support infrastructure to supply products and services to its 30,000 high-tech establishments.Pacific Design & Manufacturing (PDM), the largest trade show of its kind on the West Coast, will help provide that support by bringing suppliers and high-tech designers and manufacturers together in California's Anaheim Convention Center, January 8-10, 2001.
PDM features hundreds of exhibitors who provide the products and services in the electronics, automotive, telecommunications, aerospace, aviation, and computer industries. California is a leader in each of these industries and exports $53 billion worth of high-tech goods annually.
Located in the heart of Southern California, PDM is convenient to high-tech companies in Los Angeles (ranked 6th in high-tech employment of all U.S. cities), Orange County (ranked 10th) and San Diego (ranked 21st). Combined, these three employ approximately 320,000 people in high-tech jobs.
Exhibitors at PDM will showcase the latest innovations for high-tech design including computer-aided design (CAD) and project data management (PDM). Providers of computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) and automation systems and software will provide attendees the tools needed to automate and improve manufacturing processes.
In addition to the vast array of technologies on display, the leading producers of electronic components and subassemblies will exhibit at PDM, giving high-tech companies an opportunity to "comparison shop" for the best, most cost-effective components for their needs.
PDM will co-locate with Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West, the world's largest medical manufacturing show, and with PLASTEC(TM) West, the region's largest plastics processing event. The combination of the three events will result in one of the nation's largest business-to-business events, with 1,600 exhibitors and 20,000 attendees. Attendees will receive one badge with unlimited access to all three exhibitions.
