ArvinMeritor Develops Online Supplier Diversity Exchange ProgramTROY, Mich., Dec. 15 As part of an ongoing commitment to increase business with minority-owned suppliers in the automotive industry, ArvinMeritor, Inc. has developed a unique online exchange programs to monitor and document minority supplier use. The Supplier Diversity Exchange initiative allows suppliers to efficiently report their purchases with minority suppliers in an online environment with greater efficiency and cost-effectiveness. "Supplier Diversity Exchange enables our suppliers to securely log in and accurately track purchases they have made with minority suppliers," said Jeff Stoner, vice president, Procurement, ArvinMeritor. "The new online exchange is part of our supplier Web site, which continues to expand our use of the Internet to create a world-class global supply chain." The site can be accessed at http://supplier.arvinmeritor.com and is part of the ArvinMeritor Supplier Network (ASN). The link also provides a demo of the entire site. ASN is designed to empower suppliers to conduct more business online and to take advantage of the efficiencies it brings as a result. Stoner noted the development of ASN as just one example of e-business synergies resulting from the recent merger of Arvin Industries and Meritor Automotive. "The Internet is changing the way all companies do business," Stoner said. "In addition to the ArvinMeritor Supply Network, the ArvinMeritor merger has promoted sharing of other on-line best practices across the new companies. A great example is our Web-based global procurement data warehouse and the strategic use of on-line reverse auctions." Stoner said the Supplier Diversity Exchange would support ArvinMeritor's overall commitment to diversity and enhancing the company's support of OEM customer diversity objectives.
