Millennium Plastics Announces Successful Solplax Launch At World Packaging Exhibition

LAS VEGAS--Dec. 14, 2000--Millennium Plastics Corporation (OTCBB:MPCO), announced today that Solplax Limited of Ireland, a wholly owned subsidiary of Millennium Plastics, had reported a successful launch, with its European distribution partners, of Solplax(tm) corrosion protection/vapor corrosion inhibitor (VCI) packaging products at the World Packaging Exhibition, Emballage 2000, in Paris last month (www.emballage2000.com).
"This new line of products created a lot of interest in the company as well as excitement regarding the product's versatility and its unique biodegradable properties," stated Jocelyn Carnegie, the general manager of Solplax Ltd.
Solplax Ltd. is preparing quotations and costings for VCI component boxes for two packaging distributors, Flster of Germany, which has a substantial order, and French distributor Paviot (www.papiers-paviot.fr/org/), which launched the new VCI Solplax(tm) product line. Paviot is awaiting detailed offers for film and high concentration VCI Emitters.
Both Flster and Paviot also await trial orders from Solplax Ltd. which amount to about 2,000 lbs. of material, from which they will develop VCI film-lined cardboard boxes for test marketing to one of Paviot's largest customers in Europe.
Flster has requested that Solplax Ltd. develop a range of specialist films for use as delivery systems and labeling for the household, medical, pharmaceutical and agricultural sectors.
Solplax Ltd. is in the process of relocating to a new 6,000 sq. ft. facility due to the rapid expansion of its product and client base. The company will be moving over the Christmas holiday and the facility will be in operation in the first week of January 2001.
This expansion coincides with the recent acceptance of Solplax Ltd. into an Irish government sponsored advanced science program, which provides for grant aid to Solplax Ltd.
Millennium Plastics Corporation owns the worldwide patent rights to a new and innovative polymer and coating technology invented in 1995 by Solplax Ltd. of Ireland.
International patent attorneys in Europe and the United States have confirmed that the patent is comprehensive and durable, having been written by the developers of the technology and a scientific team with specialization in PVA polymers. Independent evaluations carried out in London and at Trinity College of Dublin have also endorsed these conclusions.
The plastics, which have been developed, have the unique and very marketable characteristic of being water-soluble and biodigestible in landfill environments so that the only by-products are non-toxic water, atmospheric gases and residual biomass. Public perception and governmental pressures for plastics that are environmentally friendly are projected to propel the commercial demand for this product.
