CTS Corporation's Automotive Products Business Awarded ISO-9001/QS-9000 Certification Renewal
Business EditorsELKHART, Ind.--Dec. 14, 2000--CTS Corporation's , Automotive Products business, located in Elkhart, Indiana, recently received QS-9000 Renewal Certification from ABS Quality Evaluations, Inc., an independent accredited third-party assessor.
The renewal certification, valid until 2003, was the sixth successful surveillance audit since the initial certification in 1997.
CTS Automotive Products was found to be in compliance with ABS' Quality Management Systems requirements set forth by ISO 9001:1994 and QS-9000:1998. The Quality Management System is applicable to the design and manufacture of position sensors and other sensors, and is valid until July 2003.
QS-9000 was developed by a joint Chrysler/Ford/General Motors Supplier Quality Requirements Task Force, as an extension of ISO-9001, to provide a single automotive supplier quality system. The goal of QS-9000 is the development of fundamental quality systems that provide for continuous improvement, defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain. All CTS Automotive Products' manufacturing facilities have completed ISO 9001/QS-9000 certification; i.e., Elkhart, Indiana, USA (July 1997); Streetsville, Ontario, Canada (November 1995); Matamoros, Mexico (November 1997); and Glasgow, Scotland (January 1998).
