Mercedes-Benz USA Redesigns Award-Winning Web Site
                New Savvy On-line Look Simplifies Navigation;
Put a Star Under Your Christmas Tree

MONTVALE, N.J., Dec. 13 Just in time for the holidays,
Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) has given its corporate web site,
http://www.MBUSA.com, a whole new look with overall improvements that simplify
navigation and increase speed whether browsing for a golf sweater from the
Mercedes-Benz Collection or an all new 2001 C-Class.
"Our web-related activities are becoming an increasingly important
strategic marketing resource for us. For many of our customers, our website
is the 'face' of MBUSA and indicative of the experience of owning a
Mercedes-Benz model. Obviously we'll continuously look for ways to keep the
site fresh and to make it add value for our customers and our prospective
buyers," said Ken Enders, vice president of marketing for MBUSA.
Shopping online for Mercedes-Benz products and accessories is easier than
ever because of new features on the web site such as the Personalized Online
Portfolio, which allows visitors to save their configured vehicles.
The site has been expanded with a host of new features that help
facilitate the process for Mercedes-Benz shoppers, including "Build Your Own,"
a car configuration tool, which now includes vehicle accessories. Each
individual model section has been enhanced to include a section featuring
third-party automotive reviews and competitive vehicle comparisons. Visitors
can also select photos from the online gallery for 360-degree views of the
exteriors and interiors of the vehicles.
Other site features have also been improved such as Purchase Assist, a
tool developed to help expedite the purchase process for visitors online who
have completed their shopping. The customer has the option to send an online
request to their local retailer to purchase a vehicle, schedule a test drive,
set up an appointment with a local retailer or receive an online brochure.
The site also now provides a fast track to the lease payment calculator
and online credit application through Mercedes-Benz Credit Corporation with an
integrated link to http://www.MBCC.com. In addition, the National Pre-Owned
Inventory Search for Starmark Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles features the
largest selection of Mercedes-Benz pre-owned vehicles on the Internet.
Through the redesigned web site or directly at
http://www.theCollection.MBUSA.com, visitors can browse over 300 Mercedes-Benz
personal accessory products to purchase holiday gifts online ranging in price
from $12 for a baseball cap to $3,495 for a high-performance mountain bike.
Of course, it wouldn't be holiday time without a selection of toys. For the
discriminating young driver (ages three to five), there is the miniature
Mercedes-Benz pedal car, available in CLK Cabriolet and 300 SL Gullwing models
($295). In addition to accessing The Collection through the MBUSA web site,
the complimentary catalog can be ordered by calling 1-800-FOR-MERCEDES or by
visiting a local Mercedes-Benz retailer.
MBUSA plans to continually enhance its Internet presence to include new
products and functionalities.
