Delco Remy Appoints Carl Pittner Vice President and General Manager-TractechANDERSON, Ind., Dec. 13 Veteran automotive components manufacturing engineering executive Carl Pittner has been appointed to the new position of vice president and general manager of a Delco Remy International, Inc., subsidiary Tractech, Inc., in Warren, Michigan, effective January 1, 2001. Pittner will report directly to Tractech President Ralph McGee. Pittner has been Delco Remy's Director of Manufacturing, Global Manufacturing Strategy since August 1999. He has 26 years engineering, sales and management experience and will be responsible for Tractech's operations, engineering, finance and information systems. "Carl brings with him a wealth of automotive OEM experience," McGee said. "His understanding of Delco Remy's business structure and manufacturing standards, in addition to his deep knowledge of the industry, will be a welcome addition to the Tractech operations." Pittner has an engineering degree from the former General Motors Institute and an MBA from Canisius College. After 20 years in the automotive component manufacturing business, he joined newly independent Delco Remy in 1995 as a plant manager in Anderson, Ind. He also served as Delco Remy's Director of Continuous Improvement and General Manager of Operations as the company went public in 1997. Immediately before joining Delco Remy, Pittner was Vice President of Sales and Operations for Green Tokai Company, a $500 million U.S./Japanese joint venture supplying plastic/metal trim and rubber sealing products to automotive OEMs worldwide. Previously he was a Plant Manager and then Engineering Director for Ernie Green Industries, another automotive OEM components manufacturer. Pittner began his career with General Motors, working for both Inland Division and Chevrolet Motor Division.
