Holt Appointed to Ricardo's Board of Directors
    SHOREHAM, England, Dec. 12 Rodney J. Westhead, Chief
Executive Officer of Ricardo plc, announced the appointment of Jeremy W. Holt
to the Board of Directors of Ricardo plc, effective Jan. 1, 2001.  Holt also
will continue in his role as President of Ricardo, Inc.
    In this new role, Holt will be involved with decision-making for all of
Ricardo's companies worldwide, as well as continuing to oversee the North
American operations of the company.
    Ricardo, Inc., is the U.S. subsidiary of Ricardo plc, founded in the early
1900s, with its world headquarters in the United Kingdom.  Ricardo is one of
the world's foremost independent automotive and powertrain engineering
consulting companies.  Ricardo is a leading engineering technology provider,
supplying research, design and development services to the world's automotive
manufacturers and their suppliers.
    "I am pleased to be appointed to Ricardo's Board of Directors and am
looking forward to contributing to the continued success of the company," Holt
said.
    Holt, 39, joined Ricardo in April 1998.  He began his career in the United
Kingdom at AE Group, a UK-based engineering company, in 1979.  In 1987 Holt
moved to the United States with the AE Group to assist in the start-up of U.S.
Manufacturing and Technical Operations.  AE Group was acquired by T&N, and
later Federal Mogul.  He left Federal Mogul in 1998 as vice president -
product engineering and marketing.
    A graduate of the University of Bradford, England, he holds a Bachelor of
Engineering with honors and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from
the University of Bradford Management School.  Holt, a new U.S. citizen, lives
with his wife and two children in Novi, Mich.
    Ricardo has had a presence in North America since 1989 and has technical
centers in Detroit and Chicago.  Under Holt's leadership, Ricardo, Inc.'s
