Warn Industries' M15000 Winch Wins Popular Mechanics Editor's Choice AwardCLACKAMAS, Ore., Dec. 12 Warn Industries' newest winch product, the M15000, received a "Best of Show" Popular Mechanics Editor's Choice Award at the 2000 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show. The SEMA show, held October 30 - November 2 in Las Vegas, featured more than 1,300 exhibitors and 6,000 booths displaying products for some 82,000 professionals in the specialty equipment market to view. At 15,000 pounds capacity, the new Warn M15000 winch is the most powerful winch on the market. It was selected from among hundreds of off-road products on display. The Popular Mechanics automotive editors made their best in show choices from a variety of products covering everything from traditional hot-rodding items like connecting rods and crate motors to mass-market offerings such as floor mats and repair-shop floor jacks. Warn was presented with its award in a ceremony at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas on November 2, 2000. Print coverage of the editor's choice awards will appear in the March 2001 issue of Popular Mechanics. "It's an honor to be recognized by a leading publication like Popular Mechanics," said Jon Kreitz, Warn Industries CEO. "The M15000 winch is our latest development to provide customers with the most powerful electric winch on the market today." Warn's new M15000 winch features a 4.6 horsepower motor, a gear ratio of 315:1 with 90 feet of 7/16" wire rope equipped with a large latched hook. Because of the power generated by the M15000, only Warn approved mounting systems should be used. There are three Warn mounting systems available for mounting the M15000 on Ford SuperDuty vehicles. Additional mounting systems will be available for other full-size vehicles in the spring of 2001.
