Renewing License Plates Just Got Easier
Ohio License Plates Can Now Be Purchased Online!

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio, Dec. 12 cboss Internet is proud to
announce the rollout of the oplates.com (pronounced O-plates dot com) web
site, the State of Ohio's online license plate renewal system, which was
formally announced today by Governor Robert Taft at the main branch of the
Columbus Public Library.
oplates.com, created by cboss Internet, allows Ohioans to renew their
license plates for one or more vehicles with a click of the mouse.
oplates.com makes buying special plates like the Personalized, Logo and
Initial Reserve plates, an easy to use process. You can actually "see" the
plate you will be getting and if it is available for purchase using a special
site function that allows vehicle owners the option to view several selections
before purchasing plates. License plates featuring favorite sports teams and
college Alma Maters are also available. Names and initials can be added to
these plates as well.
To enter the system the site requires the license plate number and the
last four digits of a person's social security number only. These numbers can
be found on the Vehicle Registration Renewal Notice drivers currently receive
in the mail prompting them to renew their plates. After a selection is made,
plates will arrive at the vehicle owner's residence in about 7 - 10 days.
cboss Internet hosts oplates.com and is responsible for its programming
and design. A team of 12 cboss technical specialists, including programmers,
graphic artists and project managers collaborated over a two-month period to
produce this high functioning, user-friendly web site. As an application
service provider, cboss hosts the site at their Boardman, Ohio server complex,
while utilizing the special interface they built for the State to access the
legacy systems in Columbus, Ohio which operate Ohio's License Renewal System.
