Dana's Structural Products Group Named Finalist for 2001 Pace Award
    TOLEDO, Ohio, Dec. 12 The Structural Products Group of
Dana Corporation has been named one of 36 finalists for the 2001
PACE Award.
    The Structural Products Group was recognized in the Manufacturing Process
category for its proprietary "Robo Clamp(TM)" hydroforming machine.   Robo
Clamp, is the largest high-pressure hydroform press in the world for
automotive components.  It produces long relatively straight parts like full-
perimeter frame rails in a flexible modular design that can be shortened or
lengthened as necessary to accommodate a large range of products and improved
asset utilization.
    Two strategic suppliers, Pollock Engineering and Rexroth Corporation, were
contracted to work with Structural Products' on the design, development and
construction of the Robo Clamp.  The first production machines will support
new programs beginning early 2001.
    PACE (Premier Automotive suppliers; Contributions to Excellence) Awards
program, recognizes automotive suppliers for innovative contributions to the
improvement of automotive products and services.  The award is co-sponsored by
Automotive News and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.
    Winners of the 2001 PACE Award will be announced at an awards ceremony at
the Detroit Opera House in Detroit, Michigan, on Monday, March 5, 2001, which
coincides with the start of the SAE International Congress and Exposition.
    At least one Dana division has either received the PACE Award or been a
finalist each year since the Award's inception in 1995.  Dana's Structural
Products Group has previously been honored as a finalist three times, and its
Spicer Driveshaft Division and its former Spicer Transmission Division are
previous recipients of the award.  Additionally, Dana's Plumley Division,
Spicer Heavy Axle and Brake Division, and the Modules and Systems Group were
also previously honored as finalists.

Group.  "Dana and its people are truly dedicated to developing innovative
technologies and are committed to meeting our customers' needs."
    The Structural Products Group is part of Dana's Automotive Systems Group,
which provides under-the-vehicle technologies and integrated modules and
systems to customers anywhere in the world.  The Automotive Systems Group
encompasses advanced innovations in driveline systems including Spicer(R) axle
and driveshafts, structures and technologies in chassis systems sub-structures
incorporating engine and axle cradles, Nakata(R) steering and suspension,
FTE(R) automotive brake and clutch systems, and a systems engineering
integration and logistics unit.
