ADVISORY/The Auto Club is Celebrating Its 100th Birthday With a Car Culture Tour of Los Angeles
--On Wednesday, Dec. 13, the Auto Club turns 100. To celebrate, we're debuting our brand-new car culture map of Los Angeles with a special bus tour of some of the top car culture landmarks. From drive-ins topped by giant doughnuts to the first true supermarket, it's a chance to see how the car shaped Los Angeles. Auto Club historian Matt Roth will be your guide. WHERE: Tour starts at Auto Club headquarters, 2601 S. Figueroa, Los Angeles WHEN: Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at 9:30 a.m. (Bus will return at 2 p.m.) We will be serving lunch on the tour. We'll take your order when you arrive at Auto Club headquarters. Anyone who can't go on the whole tour is welcome to follow along behind the bus. If you know you can go, call Carol Thorp at 714/885-2304 to reserve a space.
