FreeCar Media Announces International Expansion With Launch of FreeCar Japan
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 12 FreeCar Media, creator of an
innovative new form of out-of-home advertising, announces its introduction
into international markets with the launch of FreeCar Japan. The three-year
licensing agreement is the culmination of financing from Try-Networks
International and additional Japan-based private investors, according to Keith
Powers, vice president and co-founder of FreeCar Media.
"FreeCar Media's out-of-home advertising offers advertisers an innovative
solution to differentiate and penetrate a market that has traditionally been
bombarded with an array of advertising messages," said Powers. "This is the
first step of many into international markets. We anticipate launching the
FreeCar business model in other parts of Asia, Europe and Latin America by
March 2001."
With offices in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyushu, FreeCar Japan offers advertisers
the ability to reach captive consumers in an environment brimming with
receptive members of their target audience, increasing their advertising
value. Initial advertisers include powerhouse brands such as Toshiba-Japan
and YAHOO! Japan.
"When we discovered FreeCar Media, we instantly identified that it was an
ideal way to deliver direct value to consumers and advertisers," Ken Takeda,
President of FreeCar Japan. "This form of mobile advertising will be very
successful in Japan because it will enable advertisers to streamline its
messages while breaking through the current barriers of the lack of
advertising space and skyrocketing costs." Drivers are strategically selected
based upon the marketing needs of the advertiser and the drivers' individual
lifestyle demographics, which are received when a driver registers at
