HiQ Develops Telematics Solutions for Saab Automobile

STOCKHOLM, Sweden--Dec. 12, 2000--The term Telematics is used to refer to wireless communication for automobiles. The assignment involves analysis and requirement specifications for Infotainment systems, which make it possible to provide a range of services to the driver.
Information technology in cars is becoming increasingly common and tomorrow's cars are assumed to be equipped with Infotainment systems, complete with e-mail and other personal services, plus a positioning system such as GPS-all as standard equipment. Saab is way ahead of other manufacturers in the field of Telematics.
"HiQ is developing both Telematics and infotainment for Saab, and this involves both systems development and management aspects," says Peter Davin, Managing Director of HiQ Vast.
"Saab is a customer with whom we have a long-term relationship. HiQ works at the cutting edge of technology together with the biggest names in telecoms and the automobile industry, where Saab is one of the major players. As consultants, we benefit from working with the most advanced companies," continues Davin.
"HiQ has been active in the automobile industry since 1995, and has focused on Telematics for just over three years. We are delighted to make our extensive knowledge available to our clients," says Lars Stugemo, CEO of HiQ International.
