Automotive News Says GM Will Restructure OldsmobileDETROIT, Dec. 11 General Motors plans to announce a "restructuring of Oldsmobile" on Tuesday morning, according to the trade paper Automotive News. In a special report on its Web site, autonews.com , the paper quoted a GM source who said the announcement would be made in a satellite broadcast to all GM dealers. A memo sent today to the dealers said GM Chairman Jack Smith and Bill Lovejoy, GM's group vice president of North America vehicle sales, service and marketing, will speak to dealers in the broadcast. Oldsmobile sales have dropped 18.5 percent through 11 months of this year. Automotive News is the industry's authoritative newspaper, which is published each Monday in Detroit by Crain Communications.
