USF Worldwide Expands Operations to Vietnam
ITASCA, Ill.--Dec. 11, 2000--USF Worldwide, the global freight forwarding subsidiary of USFreightways Corporation, continues its international expansion with the opening of its first office in Vietnam. Through its joint venture ownership in USF Asia Group, USF Worldwide has begun operations in Ho Chi Minh City to better serve existing European, North American and Intra-Asia logistics and transportation clients. USF Asia Group now provides logistics and multi-modal transportation services from 23 stations in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.Le Nguyen Phong, the Station Manager, joins USF from Singapore Airlines, where he was a Cargo Sales Representative for 8 years. He is a graduate of the University of Ho Chi Minh City and is fluent in English, Russian and French.
Assisting Mr. Phong is Huynh Minh Tiet, the station's Chief Accountant. Mr. Tiet worked for Singapore Airlines in Ho Chi Minh City for five years. He holds both a Masters in Development Economics and Masters of Business Administration. Rounding out the staff in Ho Chi Minh City are Nguyen Doan Lan Khoa, Air Operations Assistant and Ton Hu Nha Uyen, Ocean Operations Assistant.
