AMA Pro Racing, Progressive Insurance to launch website devoted to flat-track fans PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- AMA Pro Racing and Progressive Insurance have teamed together to launch 1800FlatTrack.com, a new fan-centric series website that will offer new and longtime race fans a unique perspective into the world of flat-track racing. Look for 1800FlatTrack.com to be launched in time for Daytona Bike Week and Round 1 of the 2001 AMA Progressive Insurance U.S. Flat Track Championships. The website will not only provide up-to-the-minute racing results, news and exclusive photos, but also will feature first-ever content for the flat-track racing community. Although the primary audience for the website is fans, the site will also be a venue for riders, teams, promoters and sponsors to educate the racing community about the most tradition-rich form of racing on the planet. While still in development, major features of 1800FlatTrack.com will include: ? Race stories and photos from each event in the 2001 AMA Progressive Insurance U.S. Flat Track Championships. ? Up-to-the-minute @theWire race results and points standings sent straight from the race during every race weekend. ? Norris. Also included will be a column for paddock rumors and news tidbits, a regular section written by AMA Pro Racing Dirt Track officials, and an Ask the Experts section where fans can get their tough questions answered by key industry personalities. ? Top-20 rider and team biographies complete with a detailed rider history and an overview of each team. The goal is for each team to manage its own content, giving teams unprecedented web exposure. ? A section devoted to the rich history of dirt-track racing in America that will include comprehensive listings of race records by rider, year, facility and series. ? Throughout the year, online auctions will offer exclusive rider memorabilia with proceeds going to the year-end points fund. ? A secure online giftshop will feature must-have apparel for race fans of all ages. A highlight of the shopping area will be the officially licensed gear from top riders on the circuit. ? A listing of television broadcast times for series action on Speedvision and Fox Sports Net. "Our goal with 1800FlatTrack.com is to create the most comprehensive, entertaining and informative destination on the Internet for flat-track racing fans of all types," said AMA Pro Racing CEO Scott Hollingsworth and added that the website will be of value to more people than just fans.
