Ames Joins UGN, Inc. as NVH Project Engineer
    CHICAGO, Dec. 11 Automotive acoustics and interior trim
supplier UGN, Inc. recently named Derek Ames NVH project engineer, according
to Peter Anthony, UGN vice president, sales and marketing.  He will be
responsible for coordinating technical support and testing from the company's
Farmington Hills, Mich. parent facility, Rieter Automotive.
    "Derek brings a wealth of product engineering development expertise to
UGN," said Anthony.  "Utilizing him on-site at Rieter allows us to best serve
our Detroit-area customers while maintaining a seamless operation with our
parent company."
    Ames previously was product engineer at NGK Spark Plugs (U.S.A.), Inc. in
Wixom, Mich., where he coordinated customer product suitability assessments
and sales development, negotiated product pricing and assisted in the
company's QS-9000 document maintenance functions.
    Ames received a bachelor's of science degree in mechanical engineering
from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.
