Ford Drives 2001 Escape Promotion with MindArrow eBrochures
Leading Car Manufacturer Uses Rich Media Email
To Generate Excitement for Its Newest SUV

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Dec. 6 MindArrow Systems
, a provider of Web-based ASP solutions designed to improve
response rates and reduce printing costs with targeted multimedia messaging,
today announced the launch of an interactive email marketing campaign for the
Ford Motor Company's all-new 2001 Escape sport utility vehicle (SUV).
To drive consumer awareness and excitement for Ford's latest SUV,
MindArrow built and distributed an interactive, multimedia eBrochure(R) to
consumers who opted-in to receive information via email about this new
vehicle. Developed in conjunction with Ford's advertising agency, J. Walter
Thompson, the eBrochure is designed to drive interest in the Escape while
helping Ford compile a database of prospective buyers for this exciting new
vehicle.
"More and more car buyers are going online to obtain information on new
cars," said Tom Grill, California marketing manager, Ford Division.
"eBrochures enable us to provide our target customers with a more compelling
message that not only shows them the automobile, but also lets them experience
the excitement with stimulating sights and sounds."
To promote the Escape, MindArrow distributed the eBrochure to
approximately 20,000 recipients on December 4. The eBrochure featured a
30-second video clip from the Escape television commercial, provided
recipients with hyperlinks to the Ford Escape Web site and brochure request
page, and also allowed viewers to forward the interactive message to a friend.
The eBrochure included a hyperlink to a special co-branded promotion with ABC
Sports called "Escape to the Bowl Championship Series." Through this
promotion, Ford is giving away 16 new Ford Escapes and two trips to each of
the four bowl games that make up college football's Bowl Championship Series
(Rose, Sugar, Fiesta and Orange). The Ford Escape eBrochure can be downloaded
for viewing at:

"With our help, J. Walter Thompson was able to create an eBrochure for the
Ford Escape that puts the prospective buyer in the driver's seat," said Mike
Pennell, executive vice president of marketing for MindArrow Systems.
"MindArrow eBrochures are a natural for today's leading automotive
manufacturers, and we expect this campaign will be as successful as the
multimedia eBrochures we have created for Toyota, Acura, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan
and General Motors."
MindArrow eBrochures are highly compressed, self-contained files
containing high-quality video, audio, graphics and interactive hyperlinks that
can be distributed via email or downloaded from a Web page. eBrochures are
more effective than typical rich media solutions because they do not require
any plug-ins, players or streaming, so companies can deliver high-quality
video messages even over a dial-up connection. MindArrow's Web-based ASP
solution called Virtual Prospector(TM) provides a complete self-service
solution that allows sales organizations to send and track one-to-one rich
media messages to individual prospects in real-time, while also allowing
marketing organizations to develop and manage complete eBrochure campaigns.
