Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis' Favorite Car Up for Bid on eBay Motors
    Onassis' BMW Bavaria for Sale Online in Time for Holiday Giving Season

    SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 5 Just in time for the holidays,
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis' 1974 BMW Bavaria 3.0S is being offered for sale on
eBay Motors (http://www.ebaymotors.com) and on eBay's ultimate gifts guide
(http://www.ebay.com/promo/holiday/ultimate) through December 11.  The auto was
listed by premier collector car auction company Kruse International
(item #515696777) on behalf of the seller, who prefers to remain anonymous.
Bidding has already reached $27,100 with 29 bids.
    The BMW was purchased new in 1974 by the former First Lady when she was
married to Aristotle Onassis.  A green sedan with tan leather interior and an
odometer reading of 65,000 miles, it is purported to be Jackie Onassis'
favorite car.  She used it exclusively to commute between her Manhattan
apartment and her country estate in New Jersey until she sold it to her
neighbor in Peapack, New Jersey.
    In addition to the historic vehicle, six photos of Mrs. Onassis and the
car are available as part of the sale, including one photograph of her
receiving a parking ticket while in the BMW.  None of the photos have been
offered publicly, aside from the ticket shot, which Mrs. Onassis duplicated
and gave to the police officer as a wedding present.
    The BMW's present owner, a car collector, has kept the car in storage
since it was purchased in 1992.  No one has driven the vehicle since it was
sold.  The high bidder will receive the car, the six photos and the original
title, dated and signed by Mrs. Onassis.
