Stellcom Chosen by Mitchell International to Wirelessly Enable Customer Base
SAN DIEGO--Dec. 4, 2000--Insurance and Automotive Repair Industries to Access Mission-critical
Information Anytime and Anywhere Via Wireless Devices
Stellcom Inc., a wireless systems integrator, today announced it has formed a multi-million dollar development partnership with Mitchell International as its preferred provider of wireless systems integration services.
Through the partnership, Stellcom will wirelessly enable Mitchell's new line of Web based products, services and data delivery. Stellcom will also develop a wireless tool suite and provide integration services to link The Mitchell Hub, an e-commerce marketplace and Internet workspace provided for the auto physical damage claims and repair industry, to a wireless network.
The solutions will allow Mitchell, the source of information software and e-business solutions to the insurance and automotive collision repair industries, to drive efficiency throughout its industry and enable cost savings for its customer base. Mitchell's wireless tool suite will give insurer field agents and collision repair shops the ability to access mission-critical data, products, and services throughout the day via The Mitchell Hub and a handheld wireless device. With wireless access, adjustors and estimators will be available when and where their customers need them, eliminating costly and time intensive trips back to the office.
"We are an information source for thousands of insurance professionals who spend their days in the field serving customers, and to collision repair shops seeking to quickly return restored vehicles to their owners. We believe that having wireless Web access to our hub will dramatically change the industry by delivering faster information," said Jim Lindner, Mitchell president and chief executive officer. "Partnering with Stellcom will allow us to offer industry-leading wireless capabilities to our customers, enabling them to significantly increase productivity and save costs. We chose Stellcom because it has the most senior level engineers in wireless communications who bring a wealth of experience to a project, do great work, provide a reliable service and always deliver on a promise."
"This partnership has the potential to transform the auto claims and repair industry because Mitchell's customers will have immediate access to a communications system that will result in overall improved efficiency, profitability and customer service," said Tracy Trent, Stellcom president and chief executive officer. "The Mitchell project is a great opportunity for Stellcom to apply our proven expertise and to develop reference platforms for other enterprises who have a need to migrate to a mobile workforce. In the future, Stellcom will develop a similar suite of products for the growing number of mobile workers in other vertical markets such as financial and healthcare."
Stellcom has a solid reputation for fast turnaround on its projects -- an additional factor in Mitchell's selection of Stellcom to assist in the development of its ASP model and wireless offering.
