Frost & Sullivan Opens First Canadian Office in Toronto
TORONTO--Dec. 4, 2000--Frost & Sullivan proudly announces the official opening of its first Canadian branch office.Situated in Toronto, the new office will house top analysts and consultants in the region, facilitating research work throughout North America.
"The opening of the first Frost & Sullivan office in Canada reinforces our vision to be the leading global provider of strategic market consulting and training," says Subroto Banerjee, vice president/partner of Frost & Sullivan Canada. "In Canada, Frost & Sullivan is ideally positioned to provide strategic market analysis and customized solutions to our growing international clientele."
While the company's headquarters in San Jose will continue to be the nerve center of the North American operations, the move to decentralize operations in order to get closer to clients is a cornerstone of the future growth strategy.
"Canada represents a potent piece of the North American economic picture and will be of paramount importance to our North American operations," says Banerjee.
Toronto was chosen over other Canadian cities such as Vancouver, Montreal, and Ottawa for the site of the new office because of its proximity to a large client base in Canada and, across the border, in the Northeast United States.
"In our brief time here, we have been very impressed by the depth of talent of the sizable workforce that is available in Canada," says Banerjee. "The growing importance of Canada in the global business arena makes it imperative for Frost & Sullivan to establish a strong presence here and affirm ourselves as a global leader in the strategic market consulting business."
Frost & Sullivan is optimistic about business prospects in Canada and is committed to expanding operations further. Plans are underway to double the size of the Toronto office's operations capacity over the next 18 months.
In the initial phase, the Toronto office will focus on building a strong team covering all industrial areas in general, and the automotive and transportation market in particular. Inge Matthey, business manager for North American Automotive Operations will lead the North American Automotive and Transportation Group from the Toronto office. Subsequent phases will entail growth of Frost & Sullivan's Communications and Healthcare groups in Toronto.
