Communicab Signs Pact with Greater Detroit Cab Company To Tote Stylish Roof Top Advertising Systems
LIVONIA, Mich., Dec. 1 Communicab, Detroit's new transit
advertising company is proud to announce its 5-year contract with Greater
Detroit Cab Company. With the third largest fleet of taxis in the city,
Greater Detroit Cab Company will be the first taxi service in North America to
don the futuristic looking ad carrier. The agreement allows Communicab to
start its taxi advertising operations throughout the Renaissance City
immediately. Over 120 of the unique units are expected to hit the streets by
the end of February, and their presence will be instantly realized by millions
of people attracted to Detroit for various events throughout the year.

Regarding the joint venture, Rodney White, Communicab President & Owner of
parent company Merge Computer Graphics said, "Image is everything. We looked
very closely at several large Detroit taxi companies before approaching
Greater Detroit Cab. We have aesthetically pleasing products, and good-
looking vehicles are as important to us as our customers' image is to them."
The attractive style of the Communicab system, its standard safety
features and high visibility, high-end color graphic signs and well maintained
vehicles all contribute to increased awareness for advertisers. It is also
expected to improve hail business for a large number of taxi drivers. Vic
Giller, president of Greater Detroit Cab Company said, "We are very excited
and optimistic about our new relationship with Communicab. This will
certainly distinguish ourselves over the competition in the city, and increase
our profitability."
Besides the unique shape of the system, what makes Communicab different is
that their plan provides a total solution for advertisers who have, until now,
been left to fend for themselves on services necessary to utilize this medium
successfully. The single unit "value-pricing" strategy will include: two
large illuminated side panels and one rear facing "logo panel," interior or
exterior bumper stickers, graphic design services, all printing, sign
fabrication, all associated materials, labor and installation, taxi tracking
information, and even a free graphic swap for long-term commitments.
