    CLEVELAND, Dec. 1 Charter One Financial, Inc.
representatives will speak at the Lehman Brothers Financial Services
Conference on Monday, December 4, 2000 in New York City.  John D. Koch,
Executive Vice President of Charter One Financial, and J. Michael Holloway,
President of Charter One Auto Finance, will be discussing indirect auto
lending.  The presentation is scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m.
