Intermec's Freeburg Honored With Auto Industry Achievement Award

    EVERETT, Wash.--Dec. 1, 2000--Eric Freeburg of Intermec Technologies Corp. has been awarded this year's Automotive Industry Action Group's (AIAG) Outstanding Achievement Award for supporting AIAG's cooperative auto industry efforts.
    Freeburg is a senior automotive industry executive in the company's Southfield, Mich., office.
    Tom Miller, Intermec senior vice president, Systems and Solutions, credits the award to Freeburg's ability to build cooperative working relationships, as well as to his strong desire to develop standards for the automotive industry.
    "Eric represents the automotive industry and Intermec with great enthusiasm and a dedication that we, as a company, prize highly," Miller said. "He has been recognized for his tireless commitment to help automate and streamline the automotive supply chain for both manufacturers and suppliers. We applaud him for this award."
    The award acknowledges active volunteer participation and leadership in AIAG's various initiatives. Freeburg was one of 22 individuals selected to receive the honor at an awards ceremony at Detroit's Cobo Center in conjunction with AIAG's 13th annual AUTO-TECH Conference and Exposition. Freeburg presented five seminar sessions at AUTO-TECH, is a contributor to AIAG's ActionLine magazine and has published three technical documents related to his work with AIAG.
    Freeburg, a native of Birmingham, Mich., served as co-chairperson of the Automatic Identification Work Group. He also was a member of the Automatic Identification Symbology Work Group and the Logistics Project Team.
    "The AIAG is extremely fortunate to have exceptional volunteers like Eric," said Kenneth W. Godzina, AIAG executive director. "His contribution of time, expertise and leadership has been instrumental in helping AIAG make significant progress toward its goal of automotive supply chain communication and cooperation."
