There was little cheer for the beleaguered Chrysler division of Daimler
Chrysler in comments made by Dr. Eckhard Cordes of the DC Board of Management.

Dr. Cordes responded to questions from the audience at the Automotive News
Europe e-commerce conference at Strasbourg, concerning problems at the
loss-making Chrysler division.
    When asked how DC would turn Chrysler around, Dr. Cordes replied that
there would have to be a 'tough' traditional management approach and that
Chrysler would be shown 'no mercy'.
