Michigan Manufacturers Association Board of Directors Appoints New MembersLANSING, Mich., Nov. 30 The board of directors of the Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA) named two new members at its October meeting. John M. Rintamaki and Gary R. Veurink will each serve three-year terms. John M. Rintamaki is Group Vice President and Chief of Staff for Ford Motor Company, Dearborn. He is responsible for the activities of Ford's Governmental Affairs, Office of the General Counsel, Environment and Safety Engineering, Dealer Policy Board and the Ford Fund. He also serves as Corporate Secretary. Rintamaki holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan and graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the Michigan and Pennsylvania bars. He is also a member of The Hertz Corporation Board of Directors. Gary R. Veurink is Vice President, Michigan Operations Site Director and Business Operations Leader for Specialty Chemicals for The Dow Chemical Company, Midland. Veurink earned a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He has performed graduate studies in chemical engineering at the University of Michigan and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD, Fountainebleau, France. Veurink currently serves on the Executive Council of Boy Scouts of America and is Vice President of District Operations. The Michigan Manufacturers Association represents thousands of businesses and corporations throughout the state, which collectively employ 90 percent of Michigan's industrial workforce.
