Ensera Announces Immediate Availability of Wireless Claims Management Solutions
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.--Nov. 30, 2000--Ensera today announced the ability to provide direct, wireless connection from the field to its Internet-based application, iON Connection 4.0.
Users with hand-held computers such as the Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC are now able to update claims status, attach digital images to claim files, and even use voice annotation to record details of vehicle damage. This wireless and Internet communication capability means that insurers' in-house systems can now be updated by remote users in real-time, allowing consumers to access accurate, timely status of their claims over the Internet.
"Ensera's use of the Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC wireless solution for their mobile claims processing applications is a great example of the iPAQ's versatility as an Internet and business network access tool," said Steve Kirchoff, vice president of Compaq Computer Corporation's Strategic CMGI Alliance business group. "The combination of Ensera's applications with the Compaq iPAQ capabilities will provide revolutionary benefits to insurers and repairers as they service consumers with vehicle claims."
"Others have been talking about wireless technology for the claims industry for several years now," says Fred Fisher, chief architect for Ensera, "but they've failed to deliver solutions that really work. Ensera's technology is affordable, easy to use, and provides tremendous value to all those involved in the claims process that work in the field where they don't have ready access to a desktop PC. Best of all, the Ensera solution is available today, consistent with our pledge to deliver real products, not promises."
