Ensera Announces Release of iON Connection 4.0 Internet-Based Auto Claims Processing Application

    REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.--Nov. 27, 2000--

Technology Enabling Company Continues to Streamline the Automobile Collision Repair Process

    Ensera Inc. (www.ensera.com), the Silicon Valley-based technology company leading the way in solutions for the automotive collision repair claims process, announced it has released iON Connection 4.0, a next-generation management system that imports both digital and scanned images into a claim file with security and watermark features.
    The system is compatible with all leading collision-estimating systems and provides integration through industry-standard data formats.
    The interactive solutions offered by iON Connection 4.0 provide the ability to streamline the claims process and help get consumers back in their vehicle faster. Specific features offered to the automotive-claims industry suppliers, repair centers, independent appraisers, and insurance companies by iON Connection 4.0 include:

-- Estimates, supplements, work assignments, images and documents can be sent via the Internet between insurers, collision repairers, rental companies, and other service providers and suppliers;
-- Open standards allow full integration with other vendor's applications;
-- Vehicle status is posted on a Web site for customer & insurer access;
-- Claims documents and messages can be sent to any e-mail address from within the application;
-- Images can be posted to a Web site for review by recyclers and other parts suppliers;
-- Messages regarding vehicle status are sent directly to a customer's pager or WAP cell phone;
-- Thin client Application Service Provider (ASP) access for insurers allows full functionality with no in-house development work required;
-- Internet links to major parts and materials suppliers;
-- Repairers receive automatic enrollment in Ensera's Open Repair Program (ORP);
-- Web site creation and hosting for repair businesses is included with the product at no additional charge; and,
-- New data compression technology allows creation and transmission of a complete electronic claims folder, including images, in 2-3 minutes, a function that routinely takes 20 minutes with competitive applications.

    "The release of iON Connection 4.0 represents a major advancement for open systems automation in the auto-claims industry," said Gary Hart, VP Repair Facility Product Strategy for Ensera. "iON Connection gives insurers and repairers what the traditional proprietary networks cannot: the ability to communicate electronically regardless of the estimating systems used. In fact, this product can communicate claims information securely to anyone that has an e-mail address or a fax machine, anywhere in the world, all at the touch of a button."
    iON Connection 4.0 is the result of months of intensive development and testing following Ensera's acquisition of GoClaims and its EazyImage product in August 2000. Current subscribers to EazyImage will be receiving their iON Connection 4.0 updates soon. In iON Connection 4.0 EazyImage users will find a wealth of new features that add substantial power to the functions that they already enjoy.
    According to Tony Aquila, founder and chief executive officer of Ensera: "This new release is an important milestone in Ensera's commitment to lead the way in automating the automotive collision repair marketplace by leveraging the power of the Internet. Not only do our customers benefit, but most important, the vehicle owner receives a much higher level of service and is back in their repaired vehicle faster."
