Ford Division and the Metro Detroit Ford Dealers Celebrate Detroit's 300th Birthday
DETROIT, Nov. 22 Ford Division and the Metro Detroit Ford
Dealers have joined together to celebrate Detroit's 300th Birthday in 2001
with an original collectable calendar that will feature 300 years of Detroit's
incredible history, one-of-a-kind illustrations as well as Ford historical
facts and photos.
"We decided the best way to celebrate Detroit's Tricentennial was to share
some of Detroit's wonderful history with the families in our communities,"
says Rick Bartus, Director of Advertising for the Metro Detroit Ford dealers.
"Creating an original calendar was the perfect opportunity. It allowed us to
celebrate Detroit's birthday 365 days a year and give our customers something
they will truly value."
"Researching Detroit, and the events and people that contributed to its
history, was an incredible experience, Rick commented. We are more excited
than ever to join in the celebration of this historic milestone. We believe
our customers will really enjoy the final collection of images, facts and
stories that are beautifully featured in our 2001 calendar."
Calendars will be distributed at the 32 Metro Detroit Ford Dealers
beginning November 24 and at the North American International Auto Show in
January of 2001. The calendar also contains valuable monthly Ford Quality
Care service coupons.
Ford Division and the Metro Detroit Ford dealers worked with Bloomfield
Hills based Seltzer Kaufmann Marketing, a custom-publishing company, to create
the commemorative calendar from concept to completion.
The Metro Detroit Ford Dealer group consists of 32 individual Ford dealers
located in Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties.
