Ward's Reports Estimated Production
    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 22 Vehicle production this week in
the U.S., Canada and Mexico is expected to hit an estimated 240,764 units,
down from the 320,707 cars and trucks built last week, according to Ward's
Automotive Reports.
    Including this week's estimates, calendar year North American output now
totals 16,362,416 vehicles, up 1.3 percent from like-1999's pace.
    In the U.S., automakers are expected to produce 140,237 vehicles this
week, a decrease of 34.8 percent from the 215,011 cars and trucks built last
week.  To date, calendar 2000 U.S. vehicle output totals an estimated
11,843,857 units, down 0.8 percent from the 11,940,473 vehicles built in like-
1999.
    This week's Canadian vehicle production is estimated at 58,891, a 6.8
percent decrease from the 63,154 units assembled last week.  Estimated
calendar-2000 Canadian vehicle production now stands at 2,745,258 units, down
1.8 percent compared to the 2,795,661 vehicles produced in like-1999.
    Of the cars and trucks slated for production this week in the U.S.,
General Motors Corp. accounted for 31.1 percent; Ford Motor Co., 27.3 percent;
Chrysler of DaimlerChrysler, 14.7 percent; Honda of America Mfg. Inc., 5.6
percent; Toyota Motor Mfg. Inc., 5.4 percent; Nissan Motor Mfg. Corp., 3.1
percent; New United Motor Mfg. Inc., 3.1 percent; Subaru-Isuzu Automotive
Inc., 1.9 percent; Mitsubishi Motor Mfg. of America Inc., 2.2 percent;
AutoAlliance International Inc., 0.8 percent; Mercedes-Benz U.S. of
DaimlerChrysler, 0.9 percent; BMW of North America Inc., 0.9 percent; and
other manufacturers, 3.0 percent.
