    HOUSTON, Nov. 21 Cooper Industries, Inc. today
announced it will participate in the Lehman Brothers' Industrial Select
Conference on December 1, 2000.  The 45-minute presentation, beginning at
2:25 p.m. EST, will consist of a formal presentation followed by a question
and answer session.  The Cooper presentation will be available to interested
parties with access by telephone or the Internet.

    WHAT:  Presentation by H. John Riley, Jr., Chairman, President and Chief
           Executive Officer, Cooper Industries, as part of Lehman Brothers'
           Industrial Select Conference.

    WHEN:  Friday, December 1, 2000, at 2:25 p.m. (Eastern Time).
