Cryocon, Inc. Featured in Automotive Industry PublicationThe Autoparts Report Highlights Cryocon's Use of Cryogenics In the Automotive Industry OGDEN, Utah, Nov. 21 Cryocon, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: CRYQ) and its proprietary Deep Cryogenic Tempering (DCT) process were featured in the November 15 edition of The Autoparts Report. The automotive industry publication highlighted Cryocon's use of DCT to extend the life and performance of engine and brake components. "Testing shows increases in horsepower and component wear life," Cryocon CEO/President Robert W. Brunson said. "High performance racing engines have already benefitted from this unique treatment." According to Brunson, brake rotors treated with DCT last up to 350 percent longer than untreated brake rotors. Cryocon is currently testing with a number of brake rotor manufacturers to demonstrate DCT's effects on brake rotors and drums. The Autoparts Report cited Cryocon's work with Disc Brakes Australia (DBA), based in Silverwater, Sydney. Cryocon announced in a November 13 press release that DBA has begun testing with Cryocon's proprietary Deep Cryogenic Tempering (DCT) technology on its brake rotors. DBA intends to implement DCT into its production of brake rotors and offer a premium line of rotors that exhibit increased wear life and decreased warping from heat checking. DCT is a computer-controlled tempering process that significantly improves the wear and performance characteristics of many types of metals, alloys, and synthetic materials. Treated items show dramatic increases in wear resistance, toughness, machinability, thermal stability, and dimensional stability. DCT utilizes liquid nitrogen that is flashed to a gas to achieve temperatures of minus 300 degrees Fahrenheit. This technique is completely dry and eliminates the condition known as thermal shock, which is a problem related to traditional cryogenic applications involving spraying or dipping. Cryocon, Inc., is a public company based in Ogden, Utah that specializes in Deep Cryogenic Tempering (DCT). Cryocon is currently the holder of one of the few patents awarded for a specific cryogenic application. Cryocon is currently testing, researching and treating items from the manufacturing, automotive, mining, drilling, aerospace, electronics, lumber and printing industries.
