Karts International Announces Two Additions to Its Management Team
ROSELAND, La., Nov. 21 Karts International Incorporated (OTC Bulletin Board: KINT), one of the
largest manufacturers of recreational go-karts in the United States, announced
today the appointment of John R. Pettinger as its Special Projects Manager,
and J. Brian Willms to the newly created position of Chief Information
Officer.
Mr. Pettinger has significant operational and management experience and
was most recently Senior Vice President-Operations for Davis Bancorp of
Chicago (responsible for secure document courier service for approximately 85%
of the Chicago area banking industry). Previously he held various positions,
including Regional Director and General Manager for Brinks Incorporated,
Chicago. Additionally, during his tenure at Federal Express, Illinois, he
held the position of Senior Manager and was also Regional Manager and
Operations Manager, Buffalo Grove and Hillside, Illinois, respectively.
Mr. Pettinger received an MBA from Northern Illinois University,
"Mr. Pettinger will be responsible for the initiation of our safety gas
cap program," stated Mr. Charles Brister, President and Chief Executive
Officer of Karts International. "Our patented safety cap disallows engine
operation if an engine's gas cap is not securely and properly fastened, or if
the cap vibrates loose during engine operation. Mr. Pettinger will be
spearheading our initial sales into the small engine marketplace, which
includes lawn and garden equipment, portable generators, power washers,
go-karts, and other small-engine operated products. There are Consumer
Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports detailing many "Reported Incidents",
"Death Certificates", and "Accident Investigations" each year as a result of
small engine fires, and we're excited to be introducing this innovative safety
invention to the small engine marketplace. With approximately 20 million
small engines manufactured annually in the U.S. alone, our safety gas cap
product offering is expected to generate a significant revenue stream for
Karts. We are very pleased that Mr. Pettinger is joining our team at this
exciting juncture."
Mr. Willms, newly appointed Karts Chief Information Officer, was most
recently Manager, Server Infrastructure Change Management with Data Return of
Irving, TX where he and his team were responsible for all changes to the
company's server infrastructure (hardware, software, and network
communications). Prior to his tenure at Data Return, Mr. Willms was Senior
Consultant SMS/Infrastructure Practice at Software Spectrum, of Richardson, TX
and Infrastructure Specialist at EDS of Plano, TX. He began his career at
JCPenney Insurance Group of Plano, TX starting as Quality Assurance Manager,
advancing to LAN Support Manager and SMS Administrator before becoming an SMS
Consultant for NewData Strategies of Addison, TX. Mr. Willms is a graduate of
LeTourneau University. He and his family plan to relocate to the Roseland
vicinity shortly.
"We are pleased that we could attract a such a seasoned technology
professional to Karts," stated Mr. Blair benGerald, Karts International
Chairman. "Mr. Willms brings to the Company a wealth of systems analysis,
infrastructure expertise and management experience that the Board deems
essential for our planned growth and expansion. As we ready our new
manufacturing facilities, his background and experience will be invaluable."
