Suzuki will be implementing PTC's Pro/ENGINEER and Pro/MECHANICA software
for it's new year 2001 road racer project, in order to streamline the engine
design and development processes. The Motorcycle Racing Division of Suzuki
has already won the World Grand Prix 500 this year, as well as the Superbike
in the US (AMA circuit) and the World Endurance Championship Series. In
Japan, Suzuki took first place in the All-Japan Road Race Superbike (R2-1)
Championship three times, and the company's team was currently ranked second
in Japan.
"Our goal within Suzuki's Motor Racing Division, is to enter 4-cycle
vehicles in the World Grand Prix 500, as early as the year 2002. This
challenge is like nothing we have faced before, in terms of preparation and
overall product design completion," said Hironori Iguchi, who is heading up
the Racing Group for Suzuki. "I expect PTC's rich lineup of solutions and
ample experience, will be a tremendous help to our achievement of the
challenge ahead of us."
"PTC is very excited about Suzuki as the newest addition to its
performance team program. Suzuki becomes our third Japanese performance team,
others include Nissan Motor Sports International and Dome, giving us a well-
rounded program," commented Trenton Brown, executive vice president,
