MINNEAPOLIS--Nov. 21, 2000-- TheMotorPages.com/Autoco.com Inc. (OTC:AOOO) today announces the successful launch of the Virtual Private Dealer Network (VPDN), a proprietary wholesale, resale and dealer to dealer (B2B) on-line auction system. TheMotorPages B2B site is loaded with premium late model cars being offered for sale by leading fleet/lease management companies for purchase by the TheMotorPages member dealers.The first tests commenced Sept. 15, 2000. A number of enhancements were implemented as a result of positive feedback from the dealers and vendors using the VPDN. TheMotorPages has a number of well known vendors offering their late model fleet/lease and used vehicles to members of the VPDN, while dealer memberships continue to grow on a daily basis. The company is hiring more sales and service staff in anticipation of expansion across Canada and the U.S. This will allow the company to maintain the high level of service, knowledge and professionalism dealers and vendors have come to expect from TheMotorPages. With the successful implementation of the VPDN in Canada, the company is strategically aligning itself with strong partners in the U.S. for a major launch of the VPDN services into the U.S. market in early 2001.
A full range of services is available to member dealers and member vendors to facilitate the on-line auction transactions. Marshalling, transportation, reconditioning and title changes are provided for all dealers requesting these services. A joint alliance has been established with a reputable registered importer who will provide transport, title changes, customs and brokerage clearing and any other requirements vehicles need to meet US specifications, thereby allowing U.S. dealers to buy Canadian inventory with confidence.
In addition to the VPDN, TheMotorPages also provides a variety of IT services to their clients including technology integration, Web design and hosting, IT support, advertisements, creating and hosting tile and banner ads and troubleshooting.
Management is also pleased to report that the company's auditors have informed the company that the audited financial statements will soon be available for incorporation into the appropriate security filing documents, allowing application to be made for relisting on the OTC Bulletin Board.
