Woodward Names New Board Member
ROCKFORD, Ill.--Nov. 20, 2000-John A. Halbrook, chairman of the board and chief executive officer, Woodward Governor Company , announced today that Michael Joyce has been elected a director of the company.Mr. Joyce is president and chief operating officer of Twin Disc, Inc. , a company headquartered in Racine, Wisconsin that designs and manufactures heavy-duty transmission and other control systems for land-based and marine markets. Under his leadership, Twin Disc's strategy has focused on understanding and meeting the global needs of its customers, which has included realigning the company into business units with a clear focus on markets, customers, and operational excellence.

"His experience with power equipment products and in building global organizations will be beneficial to Woodward's goal of becoming the global leading supplier of energy control systems for aircraft and industrial turbines, engines and power equipment."
Mr. Joyce joined Twin Disc, Inc. in 1991. Prior to his current position, Mr. Joyce served as president of the Mobile Fluid Products Division of Dana Corporation where he held a number of key positions since 1963.
Mr. Joyce earned his bachelor of science degree in industrial management from the University of Cincinnati and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.
