HUGHES Debuts New Investor Relations Website With Expanded Financial InformationEL SEGUNDO, Calif. and DETROIT, Nov. 20 HUGHES Electronics Corporation and its parent company, General Motors Corp. , announced today an expanded website designed to assist the public and investors to better understand the business dynamics driving the growth of HUGHES, the world's leading provider of digital television entertainment, satellite services and satellite-based private business networks. HUGHES has expanded the Investor Relations (IR) portion of its corporate website, which is linked to GM's corporate website. The new site includes extensive information designed to assist the public and those who invest in the General Motors Class H common stock, a tracking stock tied to the financial performance of HUGHES. User-friendly information on the website is designed to foster understanding of GM, HUGHES and Class H stock, and certain value drivers and performance metrics relating to the business of HUGHES. "We have always made a point of communicating openly with investors and now we're using the Internet to expand on that commitment," said Roxanne Austin, senior vice president and chief financial officer of HUGHES. "With just a few clicks of the mouse, investors, analysts and the public alike will have a single source for historical data, financial guidance and other metrics that may provide indicators of HUGHES' future performance." The new IR portion of the website can be accessed through the HUGHES home page at http://www.hughes.com, and in GM's website, http://www.gm.com, via the Investor Home Page in the Investor Information section, which itself will be expanded in the near future. Among other things, the IR portion of the HUGHES website includes: 1. HUGHES' annual reports for the past three years; 2. General information on HUGHES, including a company description, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and answers for investors, hyperlinks to General Motors' corporate website as well as the websites of HUGHES' business units, contact information for HUGHES' transfer agent and IR department, an investor fact sheet on HUGHES, cost basis information, and biographies of the members of the HUGHES executive team; 3. Guidance for key financial metrics, webcasts and postings of charts presented by HUGHES executives at recent conferences; 4. HUGHES' quarterly earnings releases; 5. SEC filings of GM and HUGHES (principally, Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K); 6. The ability for interested analysts and investors to join HUGHES' e-mail distribution list, which HUGHES intends to use from time to time to alert those individuals to certain changes in the HUGHES IR website and other information; 7. Postings of HUGHES' investor-related press releases; 8. A calendar of scheduled appearances by HUGHES executives at conferences; 9. Selected historical financial data and other key historical metrics; and 10. Data on the performance of the General Motors Class H common stock, including current stock performance (updated continuously on a 20-minute delay during trading), historical stock performance and other information. HUGHES and General Motors each will file a procedural Form 8-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission to outline the disclosure policies and procedures that will be employed in relation to the General Motors Class H common stock and the business of HUGHES, including those related to use of their websites.
