SDRC Hosts Over 2,400 Attendees in Asia/Pacific Conferences; Innovation Through Collaboration was the Theme as SDRC Conducted Users Forums in Seven A/P Countries

CINCINNATI--Nov. 20, 2000--SDRC , a global supplier of e-business collaboration solutions for the product lifecycle, today announced the conclusion of a major Asia/Pacific tour in which it hosted over 2,400 attendees in seven countries (Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan) over the past few weeks. The primary theme of these forums was "Innovation through Collaboration," highlighting the strong market direction toward environments that link manufacturers, suppliers, and customers together for shared collaborative product development.
Customer presentations from companies such as Nissan Diesel Motor Co., Ltd., Hitachi Construction Machinery, and Seiko Epson, among others, were extremely well received in Japan, one of the major stops on this tour. Korea's conference highlighted customer presentations from key manufacturers including Samsung Electronics, Hyundai, LG Cable, LG Electronics. In India, a presentation by Mahindra & Mahindra - one of that country's premier automotive companies - provided details on the positive contribution that SDRC software tools have made in their recent product rollouts.
With customer representation from a variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, medical products and industrial equipment, the forums addressed the value of all product-related data as intellectual capital, and the business impact of leveraging that data across the business enterprise. Attendees shared strategies and best practices for furthering their collaborative product development environments for improved market position, better product quality, reduced costs and faster time-to-market.
"It is extremely gratifying to witness so many customers convening to learn and share ideas about `Innovation through Collaboration'," said Bill Weyand, chairman and CEO, SDRC.
