Accuride's DupleX-One Allows Drivers to Increase Payload Capacity
EVANSVILLE, Ind. & DALLAS--Nov. 16, 2000--Today, Accuride Corporation introduced its DupleX-One Wheel at the Great America Truck Show in Dallas. By replacing traditional dual wheel sets with one 22.5" x 14.00" wheel on tandem-axle tractors and trailers, the wheel offers drivers a unique method to increase payload capacity."The DupleX-One provides numerous benefits to the driver. In addition to increasing payload capacity, installation of the DupleX-One will allow drivers to improve ride quality, reduce downtime, and incur fuel savings," explained Larry Taylor, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Accuride's Heavy Vehicle Operations.
The DupleX-One system will increase overall payload capacity per axle end by approximately 120 lbs., resulting in an overall increase in truck and trailer payload capacity by 990 lbs.
"When truck and trailer owners do the math, it should become evident that the installation of Accuride's DupleX-One wheels will have a positive impact on their bottom line," added Taylor.
Available in both steel and aluminum, the DupleX-One is designed for use on tandem tractor or trailer axles. The new 22.5" x 14.00" DupleX-One wheel is available on new trucks from Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star, and through trailer manufacturers.
