AMA: NPG announces distribution of $200,000 rider point fund

     PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The National Promoters Group (NPG), promoters of the

AMA Chevy Trucks U.S. Motocross Championships, announces, for the third year in

a row the distribution of its $200,000 rider point fund.

     The $200,000 rider point fund is paid at the conclusion of each season to

the top 20 riders in both the 125cc and 250cc classes. The fund is divided

equally, with each class receiving $100,000. 2000 champions Ricky Carmichael

(250cc) and Travis Pastrana (125cc) each will receive $15,000 from the NPG.

     The NPG rider point fund is financed through the support of: Chevy Trucks,

Dunlop Radial Rover Light Truck Tires, Jakks Pacific, THQ, Thor, Parts

Unlimited, FMF, Dunlop, Ballzee, Pro-X Pistons, Moto-Tee's, Klotz Scott, Bosch

Power Tools, Gatorade, Pro Action, Cti, 909 Handlebars, Boyesen, Twin Air, SBS

Brakes, Alpinestars, Thor Helmets, Acerbis, Factory Effects, NGK and Sunstar.

     Complimenting the NPG payout is the $100,000 in additional funds that Chevy

Trucks pays to the same riders in each class. With the additional funds,

champions Ricky Carmichael and Travis Pastrana will receive checks totaling

$22,500 each.
