ADVISORY/ AAA Tow Trucks to Deliver More Than 13,000 Pounds of Turkeys to Bay Area Charities for Thanksgiving
--WHEN: Thursday, November 16, 1999, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. WHAT: Escorted by yellow AAA tow trucks, AAA managers are delivering 13,600 pounds of frozen turkeys to eight non-profit service organizations throughout the Bay Area on Thursday. The turkeys will then be prepared into meals served to nearly 16,000 Bay Area residents on Thanksgiving Day. WHY: The fourth annual Thanksgiving turkey delivery project is part of AAA's Road to Caring, an ongoing effort to help meet the needs of our communities during the holiday season. This Thursday, AAA is delivering nearly 25,000 pounds, or 13 tons, of Thanksgiving turkeys, which will serve 32,000 people at 18 charities in 14 cities throughout Northern California, Nevada and Utah.
