Mazda Motor Corporation's President to Speak on Japan's Economy and the Ford-Mazda Partnership

    LOS ANGELES--Nov. 15, 2000--Mark Fields, president of Mazda Motor Corporation, will give a speech on the topic of "The New Japan Economy and the Ford-Mazda Partnership" on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000.
    Fields' speech will take place at a luncheon program from 12:00-1:30 p.m. at the New Otani Hotel & Garden, located at 120 S. Los Angeles Street, in downtown Los Angeles.     Fields is one of the youngest individuals to ever head a major corporation in Japan. Before joining Mazda, he was managing director of Ford Argentina S.A. Fields holds a degree in economics from Rutgers University and an MBA from Harvard.
    Fields' speech is sponsored by the Japan America Society, a non-profit organization established in 1909. The Japan America Society is the West Coast's leading public education organization dedicated to fostering stronger business ties between Japan and the United States.
