BorgWarner Cooling Systems Division Headquarters & Technical Center Ground BreakingMARSHALL, Mich., Nov. 10 The Ground Breaking Ceremony to launch the construction of the BorgWarner Cooling Systems Headquarters and Technical Center took place October 17, 2000. The facility will be located in the Brooks Industrial Park, Marshall, Michigan. It will house all North American based research, technical, application and product engineering personnel and administrative staff. The synergistic environment will support BorgWarner's plans for growth through innovative product leadership. BorgWarner Cooling Systems' President and General Manager, John McGill, welcomed attendees to the event and gave special mention to some of those present including, members of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Local Development Finance Authority, Marshall City Council, among others. Also in attendance were State Representative Jerry VanderRoest, Senator John Schwarz, and Marshall Mayor John Miller who expressed their support for the new facility. The architect selected for the project is Design Plus, Inc. from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Miller-Davis, located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, was awarded contractor for the project. The 56,000+ square foot facility will be located on 5.3-acre lot, allowing for future expansion. Plans for occupancy are slated for October 2001.
