Ward's Reports Estimated Production
    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 10 Vehicle production this week in
the U.S., Canada and Mexico is expected to hit an estimated 346,294 units, up
from the 324,505 cars and trucks built last week, according to Ward's
Automotive Reports.
    Including this week's estimates, calendar year North American output now
totals 15,809,378 vehicles, up 1.7 percent from like-1999's pace.
    In the U.S., automakers are expected to produce 253,326 vehicles this
week, an increase of 8.4 percent from the 233,773 cars and trucks built last
week.  To date, calendar 2000 U.S. vehicle output totals an estimated
11,498,220 units, down 0.2 percent from the 11,522,924 vehicles built in like-
1999.
    This week's Canadian vehicle production is estimated at 51,699, a 2.1
percent increase from the 50,621 units assembled last week.  Estimated
calendar-2000 Canadian vehicle production now stands at 2,623,916 units, down
1.4 percent compared to the 2,660,439 vehicles produced in like-1999.
    Of the cars and trucks slated for production this week in the U.S.,
General Motors Corp. accounted for 30.7 percent; Ford Motor Co., 31.1 percent;
Chrysler of DaimlerChrysler, 14.3 percent; Honda of America Mfg. Inc., 5.2
percent; Toyota Motor Mfg. Inc., 5.0 percent; Nissan Motor Mfg. Corp., 3.1
percent; New United Motor Mfg. Inc., 3.1 percent; Subaru-Isuzu Automotive
Inc., 1.9 percent; Mitsubishi Motor Mfg. of America Inc., 1.6 percent;
AutoAlliance International Inc., 0.6 percent; Mercedes-Benz U.S. of
DaimlerChrysler, 0.8 percent; BMW of North America Inc., 0.8 percent; and
other manufacturers, 1.8 percent.
