West European Car Sales Fall - just-auto.com reportsLONDON, Nov. 10 http://www.just-auto.com -- October was a slow month for the car market in Western Europe with the larger countries reporting a downward trend. Germany, France, Italy and the UK saw the number of new car sales fall with sales in the smaller, neighbouring countries following a similar pattern. The LMC-JD power report at http://www.just-auto.com/features_detail.asp?art=321 looks at the low sales figures and considers their cause. There are a number of possible explanations for the fall. In France the feeling is that consumers are holding off until the new year, the UK has seen a decline of confidence of the economy and in Italy, flooding has hindered production. However, we should also consider that demand for new cars is falling across Western Europe.
