SmarTire Draws Receptive Audience At Las Vegas Tradeshow
RICHMOND, B.C.--Nov. 9, 2000--Amid 350 specialty built show vehicles loaded with the latest trends in automotive accessories, 6,200 booths encompassing 1.5 million square feet of exhibit space and approximately 80,000 attendees, SmarTire Systems successfully showcased its latest tire monitoring products at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show / International Tire Expo 2000 last week to an extremely receptive audience including original equipment manufacturers, automotive aftermarket suppliers, international distributors and major tire and auto parts retailers. With increased consumer demand for tire monitoring products, recently amended U.S. legislation requiring low pressure warning systems in all new motor vehicles by November 2003, and the exciting dynamics of the Las Vegas show where the industry identifies the hottest trends, SmarTire's technology and products gained international attention.
During the four-day event, SmarTire witnessed a dramatic increase in interest from all automotive industry sectors. A record 11 automobile manufacturers exhibited at the show demonstrating the event is the source for new innovative technologies and products. SmarTire met with representatives from many original equipment manufacturers and demonstrated its products and technology applications for dealer installed car accessory programs. Delegates from vehicle import groups, commercial distributors, trucking fleets, car accessory retailers and other automotive aftermarket specialists from across North America, Mexico, Europe, Australia and South America received detailed explanations of SmarTire's products. Other visitors to SmarTire's booth were representatives from the tire industry including retailers, distributors and manufacturers.
