Paymentech Announces Implementation of Purchasing Card Program for Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc.; Paymentech's Commercial Card Unit Also Releases Upgrade to PaymentNet(TM) Proprietary On-line Reporting and Program Management ApplicationDALLAS, Nov. 9 Paymentech's commercial card unit announced that it is implementing a purchasing card program for Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. The Visa-branded program will utilize Paymentech's award-winning proprietary Internet reporting system, PaymentNet(TM). Once fully rolled out, Paymentech anticipates issuing 2,000 purchasing cards with an estimated annual charge volume of $75 million. Paymentech issues and manages MasterCard and Visa commercial cards through Salt Lake City-based First USA Financial Services. The latest addition of Toyota to an already robust customer base illustrates continued strong growth for the commercial card group. Total charge volume in 2000 is projected to grow 75% over last year. "Toyota's goal is to automate the commercial payment process as much as possible and to reduce paper invoicing and reporting," said Tim Peterson, Procurement Services Manager at Toyota. "A dynamic and mature on-line reporting and management tool like PaymentNet(TM) will help us accomplish that objective." Peterson anticipates substantial operational savings once the payment vehicle is fully rolled out to corporate departments and subsidiary companies. "Paymentech's commercial card team complements its advanced technology with hands-on account management and systems integration expertise," said Peterson. "After considering p-card programs for some time, we felt the need to partner with a provider who could manage Toyota's sophisticated requirements through leading edge technology and industry setting standards and practices," said Peterson. "Paymentech's Internet reporting has unique features and flexibility. We not only can administer purchasing card transaction data on line, we also can build proprietary cost allocation interfaces to our accounting systems." Paymentech also unveiled the latest release of its PaymentNet(TM) Internet reporting solution for corporate and purchasing cards. PaymentNet(TM) provides secure access so multiple managers and cardholders can simultaneously access and administer card activity data. The primary upgrade is the addition of a customizable portal interface that each client company can utilize to personalize the appearance and content of the PaymentNet system for their users. Paymentech clients can now customize the PaymentNet portal with their own logos, internal communications, and other individualized services. Other upgrades include enhanced reporting functionality that allows program administrators to schedule reports for automatic daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly creation and delivery. The "lights-out" system also allows program administrators to schedule the creation of the file that they will then directly upload from PaymentNet to their general ledger system.
