CAD/CAM Hall of Fame Welcomes ALGOR President Michael Bussler
PITTSBURGH--Nov. 9, 2000--ALGOR, Inc., a leading maker of software for mechanical engineers today announced that Michael L. Bussler, ALGOR's president and CEO, was inducted into the CAD/CAM Hall of Fame on October 10, 2000 in Chicago. The CAD/CAM Hall of Fame honors pioneers and innovators of the CAD/CAM technology. Mr. Bussler and other inductees were featured in the September 2000 issue of Computer-Aided Engineering magazine and the October 19, 2000 issue of Machine Design.Mr. Bussler was honored for creating the first FEA system for personal computers and pioneering many computer-aided engineering (CAE) software innovations, including the first CAD/FEA interface, the invention of Mechanical Event Simulation, finite element meshing technology developments and extensive use of Webcasting for software demonstrations, technical support and distance learning Web Courses.
"Michael Bussler is one of the most perceptive and forward-looking people I've ever met in the field of computer-aided design and engineering analysis," said Ronald Kohl, editor of Machine Design magazine.
In addition to Hall of Fame recognition, Mr. Bussler accepted ASME Region V Industry Recognition from the Pittsburgh Section of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) earlier this year and the Scientist Award, one of the Science and Technology Awards for Excellence presented by the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh in 1999.
